Runners will run the main fire trail down to the St Ives Wildflower Gardens. They will enter the sealed road within the Wildflower Gardens, before running a loop of nice single trail following Mueller Trail around the gardens, winding in and out of trees, around rock formations and along creeks, before returning via Fitzgerald Track, Bentham Track, Caley Track through Lambert’s Clearing to join back to the fire trail to the Showground where they will finish.
Same as the short course except runners will do an extra loop of the of Mueller Track above.
The long course follows the same route as the short through Mueller Track, until management Trail, continue over Kuringai Creek up past St Ives Chase residential to Timbarra Road, turn left then turn right at Aid Station 2 to enter Warrimoo Track into the National Park. Keep left to descend steeply down to cross creek and then left up Sphinx Track to Bobbin Head Trail. Continue until past Aid Station 3, descend to Cowan Creek and keep right to return via Warrimoo Track next to creek past the Sphinx Track turn off, cross creek and up to return past Aid Station 2 again, retracing route to Management Trail and return as per short races via Fitzgerald, Bentham, Caley Tracks and Lambert’s Clearing to finish.
The long course will have a 3hr 45min cut off in place at AS2 on Warrimoo Track at 18.7km. If you have not made cut off at this point, you will be driven back to the start / finish area.
The X-Long course will be the same as 24km with an additional loop of Mueller Track on way out, and via Mueller Track on way back (not Fitzgerald), without the boring 6 laps of St Ives Oval.
The extra-long course will have a 4-hour cut off in place at AS2 on Warrimoo Track at 23.6km. If you have not made cut off at this point, you will be driven back to the start / finish area.
